Brazilian Agate By Bernardo Cesare
Agate is a lovely stone, and under the microscope it is even more so. The small piece of Brazilian agate captured in this image shows an incredibly fine-grained texture, with layers and patterns recalling an oriental carpet. Actually, they’re a myriad of crystals of quartz – the main constituent of agate – arranged in thin layers deposited by hot waters.
