A rocking collection!

A microscopic image of this beautiful mineral.

Charoite is a lovely purple-lavender mineral, quite rare because it has only been found in a locality from Siberia (Russia). As a semiprecious stone it is extensively used for lapidary arts. Under the microscope charoite-bearing rocks give an overall sense of movement, as charoite forms fibrous mats that swirl around and in-between blocky crystals of feldspar.
